About

Hi, I'm Vicky,
I've been a physio for 20 years, but over the last 10, I have narrowed my focus down into the area I find the most rewarding, cancer rehab. I love helping people to take back some control over their health, no matter what stage of their cancer journey.
I'm also a lymphoedema and scar therapist (all scars, not just cancer scars) and am passionate about helping people navigate their new normal.
Please get in touch so we can explore out how I can help you.
Services
Lymphoedema
Management
Including garment prescription
Lymphoedema is often (but not always!) associated with cancer treatments. The fluid transport system through the body can get damaged or blocked leading to an accumulation of fluid. Garment prescription is the corner-stone of effective management but massage, exercise and skin care are also really important. Funding may be available - contact Vicky prior to booking.
Cancer
Rehabilitation
Classes
Through PINC & STEEL
For those who register with the PINC & STEEL cancer rehab foundation, a 6-week targeted exercise class can be funded for you. These are small group classes (4-5 people) where all participants are given an individualised exercise programme to work on their specific needs. Online classes are available thereafter. Contact Vicky to find out more.
Cancer
Rehabilitation
Including PINC & STEEL cancer rehab
It doesn't matter what type and stage of cancer you are experiencing, cancer rehab can help you maximise your function, decrease your pain and bring back some of that all-important sense of control. Sessions are personalised to suit your individual needs, whether it's hands on therapy, exercise prescription or advice and education. Funding is available with pre-approval through PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehab Trust.
Scar Therapy
Restore Scar Therapy Certified
Vicky has undertaken the Restore Scar Therapy Oncology Scar Specialist training. Cancer scars can be some of the most severe scars, often compounded by the effects of radiation. Consequently, Vicky is able to treat all types of scars, whether cancer related or not. These gentle techniques can release scars that are years old, and she can also advise on product use such as silicone and moisturisers.
Cancer Support
Walk & Talk
In conjunction with The Cancer Society
Every second Wednesday at midday Vicky and Zoe from The Cancer Society facilitate a walk and talk along the Wānaka Lake Front. Starting from where the public toilets are opposite the rugby field to Edgewater (and maybe beyond). A great chance for people with cancer and their support people to connect and meet others who get it. (Please check The Messenger or Facebook to find out the next date).
